Client – Major UK Local Authority - Provision of strategic advisory services and support

The India Business Group was commissioned to advise the local authority for developing an India market engagement plan and high-level programme of activities to support bilateral business, trade, investment education and sports links for key priority sectors and industries for the region.

We worked closely with the investment team at the Council to conduct scoping in the region, meeting with key stakeholders, including the local Chambers of Commerce,  local universities, businesses and the local Mayor’s Authority for fact-finding, place marketing inputs and recommendations to form a strategic roadmap.

We facilitated a number of business roundtables, workshops and meetings with the Council’s senior leadership team and external stakeholders, developing a credible pipeline of business opportunities and supporting the formation of key bilateral partnerships to support the Council’s internationalisation agenda.  

Our market research, analysis and strategic directions helped develop a strong India narrative and engagement plan, linking in with wider functions, initiatives and flagship events of the Council.

Client - UK Russell Group University

The India Business Group was invited to provide market intelligence, partnership development and strategic support to grow the university’s portfolio of key partners in India from across higher education, research, industry and Government networks.

After reviewing the university’s emerging India strategy and based on a series of internal consultations and mapping work with the senior colleagues in the International Office and key faculties, we provided support to identify a set of key stakeholders and shaped the itinerary for the Vice-Chancellor’s delegation visit to New Delhi and Mumbai.

We developed a full schedule of meetings and partner visits at prestigious institutions, and with relevant Government officials, including the Ministry of Education,  Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, IIT Mumbai and Tata Group, amongst others.

Client - Global Legal Services Business

The India Business Group was instructed to provide business advisory services and support to a leading international legal services business.

We worked closely with the leadership team to review and develop the firm’s India engagement strategy and provided know-how about the Indian market, business landscape and cultural considerations.

We provided in country assistance to help the business achieve their strategic objectives, as well as implement specific marketing initiatives.  We helped develop strategic links with Indian industry contacts, stakeholders within the legal sector and international trade bodies.

Client - UK Real Estate Insurance Company  

The India Business Group was appointed by a leading UK real estate insurance specialist to assist the company with developing its foothold in India on an inbound and outbound basis.

We provided expertise and cultural understanding to develop key strategies to penetrate the Indian market in the commercial real estate and infrastructure sectors, and substantially helped the company to grow its network both in India and also within the UK’s Indian Diaspora.
We helped the company to set up a series of high level meetings with key targets, intermediaries and stakeholders and offered guidance on sales presentations and follow up techniques.

Client - UK Gold / Jewellery Manufacturing Company

The India Business Group was consulted by an established London based manufacturing business to assist with exporting and distribution opportunities for the Indian market.

We visited the company’s UK facilities and met with the leadership team to understand their business model, product ranges and market segments.

We put together a bespoke market strategy focusing on key city / urban locations in India and co-ordinated an initial market visit.  We accompanied the company’s MD on the visit and facilitated meetings with commercial contacts from our India network.

Client – UK Solar Power Technology Company

The IBG was instructed to advise and represent a UK based solar company on market entry into India for development of its recently patented technology and proposed plans for constructing solar power plants in India for commercial use.

Amarjit travelled to India to meet with key stakeholder agencies and senior industry contacts to discuss the company’s technical presentation and subsequently assisted the company with forming an initial market strategy.

We advised the company on strategic locations / states, key cultural considerations, relevant flagship investment programmes and facilitated personal introductions to in country joint venture partners for exploring possible collaboration.

Client - Top Indian Manufacturer of Cosmetic Products

The India Business Group was asked to assist a major player in the cosmetics industry with business development support and expansion of distribution network within the European Union.

Our advice on inbound market entry strategies was sought by senior officials within the exporting and marketing divisions based in India.  We undertook research and facilitated suitable introductions to buyers in selected UK luxury retail outlets.

To maximise the company’s move into the UK, we helped to develop stakeholder relationships, supported PR activities and arranged a series of business meetings for the Group’s senior management team when visiting the UK.

Client – Leading UK Manufacturer of PCB Equipment

The India Business Group provided consultancy services to support the manufacturing company’s market entry into India.

Amarjit travelled to India to promote the company, identifying and meeting with India based manufacturers and trade organisations to explore potential joint ventures, product purchasing and supply chain opportunities.

Having a presence in India meant that we were able to help with due diligence support there and advise on the structure of a new cross border business relationship with an entity in India.

Client – Newly Established International Business School in India

The India Business Group was asked to provide advisory services to develop the school’s brand profile and strategic partnerships within public and private sector organisations in the UK and India.

After reviewing the school’s international marketing and engagement strategy we were able to offer insights into possible future growth areas.  Amarjit worked closely with the chairman to expand the school’s network of business, trade and Government partnerships.

As well as promoting the school’s activities and working with selected contacts, the India Business Group represented the School at high profile events and offered professional advice on structuring international training collaboration agreements.
